North Conway Scenic Area

You don't need to travel very far from a road to see scenes like this. I walked about 10 feet from the parking lot, set up my tripod, and got this shot.

I decided to develop this image as a chromatic grayscale for two reasons. The first factor was time of day. Elaine and I were on a shopping trip and it was nearly lunch-time when I clicked the shutter. This leads to a high-contrast situation. The second factor was the color green. This time of year it is all you can see. To much green, as in this case, masks detail and causes the eye to become bored very quickly. Hence, to get more detail and use the contrast to my advantage, I chose to process the image in black-and-white.

Until next time...
